"Beginning in 2023, the City of Regina is offering grants up to $50,000, and property tax exemptions up to five years, for eligible intensification and revitalization projects in City Centre, Heritage and North Central.

“We welcome reinvestment, redevelopment and new residents and businesses to the heart of our city,” said Deborah Bryden, Executive Director of City Planning and Community Development. “Revitalizing our downtown and older neighbourhoods has many benefits including improving property values, attracting future investment, improving our city’s financial and environmental sustainability while creating safer, more connected and vibrant communities for everyone.”

The new incentive programs will help cover costs for construction, demolition, beautification, building code compliance and other expenses associated with eligible intensification and revitalization projects. Residential, commercial and mixed-use projects are all eligible.

The City also offers several other initiatives to renew core neighbourhoods including the Housing Incentives Program, the Heritage Incentives Program, development fee waivers for eligible intensification projects and the removal of the Intensification Levy last year.

Visit Regina.ca/revitalize to learn more about the Intensification and Revitalization Incentive Programs and find out if your project qualifies. Applications for this year will open January 30, 2023 and be accepted until October 31, 2023."
